转化生长因子β（transforming growth factor-β，TGF-β）的信号可以诱导增生的内皮细胞（endothelial cells）由上皮细胞向间充质细胞转化(epithelial–mesenchymal transitions, EndMT)，而这会在实体瘤中（solid tumors）产生大量的有活性的成纤维细胞（fibroblasts）。
